Happy Birthday America

Happy Birthday America is what my husband decided to call our 4th of July party. And this is one birthday party he had fun planning!:)

The party began with Andrew P. pulling in on his riding lawn mower,
which he sold to us and decided this was the best way to get it to our house.

The kids thought a chair on top of the car looked like fun.
Of course, parents promptly told them
this would not end well.
So one of our guests went and
grabbed duct tape to strap the chair down
and make it at least appear more safe.
Well, the kids had fun!

4th of July Weekend

We went up to Corey's folks' for July 4th weekend. Caedmon talks about Papa and Nana and "kitty kitty" (they have a cat) all the time, so it's always fun to go and see them. And they always take such good care of us - I feel like a kid being spoiled while I'm there!:) It was a lovely weekend!

We went over to some friends the evening of the 4th -
they had their third baby 2 1/2 weeks after Carys was born -
it's fun being at the same stage with children!

We decided not to brave the fireworks with Caedmon, which frustrated Nana, but he likes his routine and doesn't do too well when it gets past his bedtime! So Miss Carys and I went with Nana to the fireworks while Corey and Dad held down the fort with Caedmon and Nascar:)

Fourth Festivities

We had a nice Fourth, even though we just stayed home. We attempted a family photo shoot in the a.m. Put the camera on timer - you know how it goes...run to get in the picture,etc. The misquitoes were nasty so we didn't get the perfect picture - oh well. Attempted a photo shoot with just Caedmon inside, but again, lighting wasn't good, etc. Blurry or not though, he sure is cute!:)

A friend came over, we threw some chicken on the grill, played with sparklers to give Caedmon somewhat of a 4th of July exerience (since we didn't even consider the fireworks - it's one thing to keep a baby out till 10p.m.; it's a whole other ballgame to go to something that doesn't start till 10p.m.! We would have had one crabby boy on our hands!), and then put him to bed.

The three of us played bocce ball. I'm a gamer, so I had a lot of fun...and not only because I won both games either!:)

We topped off the evening with dessert and a movie. After moaning the blues that morning because I thought we weren't going to do anything, we had quite a nice day! Thanks Ben for hanging out with us!:)
