Kaleb's Visit

My youngest brother stopped on his way through to Wisconsin for spring break and spent the night. This was the first time he's seen my children and the first we've seen each other in three years! It was great to spend some time with him.

Thanks for visiting Kaleb!

She's not crying...neither is she sure what she thinks about him

A beautiful afternoon for a walk to the lake

Somebody was serious about their block building!

And of course Caedmon got some reading time in!

A Crisp, Refreshing Walk

A week ago we decided to take a walk down the road and across the street to Lake Bellaire. We pulled Caedmon in his sled, but we had just experienced quite a warm up and for once the roads were clear, so it was quite a noisy trip!:) The exercise felt good as did the fresh air, which had cooled back down. We got to walk out on the lake a little. I did this a lot as a little kid and I miss things like ice skating and playing football and driving out on the lakes!

It was nice to spend time together outdoors!

The trek there...

Out on the ice

No idea what he was doing, but it was cute anyway:)

Such a big boy!:)

Walking!!!

About two weeks ago, Caedmon began taking a few steps on his own, with us close by. That turned into walking across the living room when we coaxed him. Then he started walking across the living room from couch to couch without any prompting. Now...he's pretty much all over the place! He walks like Frankenstein, arms straight out for balance! It's adorable!

Taking Walks

We live on a highway, so we're very grateful that we're next to a side street that only 13 families live on! It provides a beautiful and quiet place to take a walk!

Look At Those Legs!

I love his "chunky monkey" legs! Baby fat is the best!:)
Walking is all he wants to do these days! And now he steers us in the direction he wants to go and gets annoyed when we go elsewhere! He's also enjoying the cupboards and drawers, but thank goodness he's not getting into them when crawling yet! I know, it's only a matter of time!:/

Sunday Afternoon Stroll

Well, it wasn't exactly a stroll.:)

We had to be out of the house this afternoon for an open house our realtor set up. We decided to pack a picnic lunch and take a walk through the woods at a state park close by.

We were able to do this with Caedmon thanks to my garage sale purchase of a backpack carrier yesterday. (I just happened to mention to a friend that I was looking for one, and a co-worker of hers had just happened to tell her about one she'd seen at a garage sale that day! Perhaps it didn't "just happen.":) )

Anyway, it was a lovely afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and the family time! Well, Caedmon might not have enjoyed it quite as much as we did.

Lunch

It was a pretty chilly day and all I had were socks for Caedmon's hands.

Taking a break - it was Caedmon's turn to eat lunch.

Yes, this was his facial expression a good chunk of the walk.

Wasn't so sure about this new experience.

I took a turn right near the end.

Surprisingly, it was more of a workout for my legs than anything else.
