28 Weeks!

I can't believe I'm in the third trimester already! Baby will be here before we know it, and hopefully Caedmon will be ready! We talk about baby in mommy's tummy and he's obsessed with lifting my shirt - at first, because he was obsessed with belly buttons. He likes to kiss my belly, which is just too sweet and he started signing baby on his own - his version is rubbing his tummy. I'm afraid he's going to think baby equals tummy, but I'm not sure how to get around that right now... hopefully it'll all make sense soon!:)

My Sweet Husband

I love when Corey does something special for absolutely no reason! He took off to town the other day and returned with flowers and a sappy romance for me to watch! He hates the holidays when you're "supposed" to do something, 'cause he'd rather do it on his own terms...and for the most part, that's okay with me. (Although I really do like birthdays!:))

Using His Imagination

He got these legos for Christmas from Papa and Nanna and they have been a great gift! I think mama and dada get into them more than he does sometimes!:) But within the last couple days, he's started spending more time putting them together - I love to watch the concentration on his face!

He started building with dada...

wow, that is tall!
after the fun of knocking it over,
Caedmon started putting it back together by himself

Grumpy

Caedmon woke up especially grumpy from his afternoon nap one day and Corey ran for the camera saying, 'you always take pictures when he's happy!' So, for all who have asked, 'is he always in a good mood?,' the answer is a resounding "no!":)

And these don't come close to showing just how grumpy he can be!

More snow!

We got about 8 inches of snow last night! Just when is starts feeling a little like spring...but I don't mind. I don't think Corey felt the same way this morning! But we took advantage of the freshly fallen snow and the fairly warm temps and out we went! We were out for about an hour and a half...I'm not sure where I got all that energy, but I was thoroughly exhausted when we came in! I walked through knee deep snow in our very back yard and then got it in my head to make a snowman! But it was fun and Caedmon loved the fresh air!

Throwing corn for the deer and turkeys

Yeah, he's small, but that's all I could muster!

One day I'll be able to send the kids out by themselves

and I'll watch from the window!

Or maybe I'll still go out...I can be a kid at heart!:)

Reading...anything and everything:)

the newspaper...

a magazine...

Close to the Action

Getting supper ready has always been a difficult time for us - Caedmon decides that this is the time of day he has to be held and receiving all my attention. So a few days ago, I got this "brilliant" idea to put the step stool at the counter so he could be close to me. It works great, but we've created a monster! Anytime we're at the counter at all now, he runs for the stool! I will usually fill the sink with some water and throw in some containers and utensils. He loves it, but he's started pouring the water outside of the sink.:/ So, we put towels down. I'm so glad that I'm able to find the patience, most of the time, to allow him to do these things.

I put an apron on and he wanted one as well:)

Bathtub Fun

Lovin' the cups these days! (Kind of nasty when he drinks it!)

Couldn't believe how long his hair is!

Undressing...

Caedmon has figured out how to unzip his pajamas and the other day he was attempting to get them off. He never quite succeeded, but it was cute to watch!:) I don't look forward to the days of undressing and walking around naked! I've seen kids pull off their diapers and so far, he can't do that because he can't get his clothes off, but he's tried when he doesn't have clothes on.:/ I'm sure it's not too far in the future...

Rocking Chair

Caedmon received a rocking chair from his grandparents for his first birthday. He loves it! He pushes it and drags it all over the house and then climbs up in it and rocks away!:)

Caedmon and Neo

Caedmon loves his dog, much to Neo's dismay! We have an interesting dog to say the least, and although he'd never hurt a flee, which makes him great for kids, he's also scared to death of our son! Caedmon's not mean or anything, just likes to give hugs and Neo has issues with being that close to people - he acts more like a cat sometimes!

Babysitting/Play Date

I watched some friends' children for a couple hours one day. Their little girl is 2 1/2 and their boy is almost 9 months.

The girl and Caedmon can be interesting together...they're still learning how to interact with other children and how to share.

And recently, Caedmon has become obsessed with their little one, constantly touching and hugging and driving the poor boy crazy! It's sweet, but I'm constantly worried he'll knock him over and get a little rough with him. Having a baby in the house soon is going to be interesting!
