Oops!

So, I am confused on the date! I thought today was the 28th...guess Caedmon isn't 11 months till tomorrow. Oh well, close enough!:)

11 Months Old!

I canNOT believe our baby is almost a year old! He is an absolute joy in our lives! He's just so much fun!
He is very quick with his army crawl, but he'd still rather walk holding our hands than do anything else!
He's finally started saying "mamamama" again, but never when asked to repeat it.:/

Our little boy is growing up!

How Do YOU Sleep?

Caedmon took a really long nap today, so I finally went back and opened his door. As I watched to see if he'd wake up, he pulled himself into this position and I couldn't resist grabbing the camera!:)

Brush Those Teeth!

Mommy has had some trouble getting into the routine of brushing the little man's teeth, but we're trying! In the beginning, he didn't want to have anything to do with it - he's doing great now when it's my turn to take his toothbrush and get those teeth clean!

Good Times!

I have no idea what was so funny, but he was obviously getting a kick out of something! Nice view of the teeth!:)

Second Word

A few days ago, Corey called me into the living room and told me he thought Caedmon had said his second word. That word would be...mama? NO! Of course not! Why would we ever want to say mama? His second word...Carl. Carl??!! you say. Where did that come from? Well, have you heard of the books about a Rottweiler dog named Carl? He has a board book about Carl the dog and he LOVES that book! So, when Corey called me out to the living room, he had been "reading" (it's a picture only book) to Caedmon and Caedmon started saying "Car" (not a lot of emphasis on the "r") and Corey had to think a minute, trying to figure out if he was trying to say something. Since then, he continues to say "Car" when he's reading the book and even when he's not. Now, when asked to say mama, I'm met by either silence, a scream, dada, or car. Gee, thanks dude! Love you too! Truly I do!:)

Sometimes when it get's really silent in the living room,
we'll come out to check on him and he'll be "reading" his Carl book.
It's so cute!

Posing

Well, not on purpose anyway. Saw him in this position and had to grab the camera!:) He's watching his dada here!:)

A Picnic at the Park

Corey surprised us Sunday and came home early! When I was trying to figure out what to make for supper, he suggested a picnic at the park! What a great idea! We had a wonderful time, hanging out as a family!
This chair has been the best purchase!
Despite all the distractions, he made it through the whole bowl of food!
Caedmon enjoys the swings!

Inside a tunnel here
He enjoys everything at the park!
We concluded the evening with ice cream!
Is there any better way to end?!:)

I have been blessed with a wonderful family!

Reading Together

A Day Out With Family

Once again, the Goulds made us a part of their family. We showed up at their house Saturday while our house was being shown, and they were on their way out to visit Grandma Barnhard in the hospital. They invited us along and of course I said yes! Can you tell I'm a stay-at-home mom who doesn't get out much?! After the hospital, we got something to eat. But lunch lasted a little longer than Caedmon could handle, and Kathy ended up bringing him out to the van for a change of venue! As you can see in the picture, it worked!:)

Who knew a seat belt could be so exciting?!

Oh So Helpful!:)

Caedmon loves to empty things...anything! When he takes a nap, I clean up his toy mess. Corey always says, 'he's just going to empty it out again!' I tell him that's the whole point - he loves to empty it! Soon enough, we'll need to teach him to clean up himself, or at least get in the habit of him "helping" mommy clean it up!:)

Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures

This is what happens when I get bored! Caedmon gets to pose with mommy for yet another picture!
Love his silly smile here!

Matching Outfits

Corey just rolled his eyes at this! I thought it was fun! heehee It was accidentally on purpose. :)

Starbucks with Caedmon

Corey and I love our coffee shops and of course, Caedmon is along for the ride!:) So far we haven't given him a taste of anything we get, but he sure wants whatever we have...or at least the straw!:)

Daddy's solution to the grabbing hands - Cheerios!:)

First Time at the Park

We went for a walk the other day and continued the few yards more to the park near our house. This is his first time in a swing and on a slide and he seemed to enjoy both! We'll have to do it more!

Quality Time with Dada

Dada is still the only word Caedmon will say. A few days ago I actually heard "mamamama" a couple times again - it's been a long time; he DID say mamama before he ever made the dadada sounds! But when asked to repeat mama, he says only "dada," the object of his affection!:) And here are a few pics to show how much he loves his dada!

Look at that smile!

Must be quite the conversation!:)

Doing better with the balance thing...

Dada has fun ideas!

Yep, just like that!

Uh Oh...Here Comes Trouble!

Watch out, here comes Mr. Mischievous!

Look at that face - it has mischief written all over it!

Cleaning I can handle!:)

Look At Those Legs!

I love his "chunky monkey" legs! Baby fat is the best!:)
Walking is all he wants to do these days! And now he steers us in the direction he wants to go and gets annoyed when we go elsewhere! He's also enjoying the cupboards and drawers, but thank goodness he's not getting into them when crawling yet! I know, it's only a matter of time!:/

Movie Night

I don't usually blog about movies, but...

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants...what a GREAT movie! So very touching! Cried most of the way through it! I love a good chic flic! Now I wish I had read the book first; still may have to do that at some point!

Thanks, Kathy, for letting me borrow it!

A movie about friendship and loyalty and growing up and discovering yourself and love...you can't get any better than that!
Well, I think most of us girls would agree....don't ask the guys though! I had to watch this will my husband was away and I could "hear" the eye-rolling through the phone when I told him what I was going to watch. Oh well...they're missing out!:)

Friends and Beaches

We met some friends at the beach yesterday. We hadn't seen each other since school finished, so it was great to get together and catch up!
Caedmon usually loves other children, but Morgan brought beach toys and he was all about them! And poor little Morgan just wanted to be with her mommy, whom she hadn't seen all day. So, I guess it was a "playdate" for the mommies. And I have to say, I'm all about playdates with other mommies! I don't really have any other friends at the same stage in life.

I'm pretty sure this photo was staged...
since they didn't have much to do with each other.:)
Cute nonetheless!

Lovin' the beach toys!

She's pointing to the seagulls - he never noticed them - too busy playing with and eating sand!

Some nice lady offered to take our picture.:)

Fun at the Pool

Caedmon is a little fish! We've been in the water every night this week so far!

Peek a boo with Kathy - too much fun!

Thanks for letting us enjoy your pool! The pool, the company...good times!!:)

Check Out That Hair!

His hair is not usually THIS curly! He has pretty tight curls on the sides and back, and often one little "Alfalfa" curl on the front top, but today, he had curls just about everywhere! It was quite hilarious...and adorable!:) i hope the curls are permanent!

With Daddy In Charge...

I asked Corey to get Caedmon into his pajamas and this is what he came out wearing, with an explanation from Caedmon, through Corey, 'This is what dada wears to bed!' Needless to say, I put a pajama top on him before he went to bed. :)

I thought this picture was hilarious! Looks like he's sucking in the gut
and showing off the pipes all at the same time! :)

He's in the middle of turning in circles here. It's funny to watch!

And yes, once again, he's watching TV and is utterly too close! (He didn't stay there long.)
