Fun at the Beach

This was a couple weeks ago and yes, believe it or not, it was actually hot that day! A very "go get 'em" friend of mine asked if we wanted to go to the beach with a picnic lunch. Sometimes I'm tempted to just stay home even when something sounds like fun, just because it's easier with two kids. But I went and we had a lovely time. Now she was the one with the idea to grill brats over a little camping grill! I was all for packing sandwiches, but if she wanted to do the work, well, hey, I'd eat it!:)
The children had a great time in the water and in the sand as well as on the cool playground right next to the beach. I never made it past my calves in the water, by the time we had lunch, I fed Carys, and then tried to get her to go to sleep, which took awhile! But it was a good time - something I'd only do with another person along!:)

Fun in the Kitchen!

Caedmon enjoys playing in the kitchen while I cook, do dishes, or put dishes away. I went running for the camera when he decided that one drawer at a time was not enough fun!:)

Friends and Beaches

We met some friends at the beach yesterday. We hadn't seen each other since school finished, so it was great to get together and catch up!
Caedmon usually loves other children, but Morgan brought beach toys and he was all about them! And poor little Morgan just wanted to be with her mommy, whom she hadn't seen all day. So, I guess it was a "playdate" for the mommies. And I have to say, I'm all about playdates with other mommies! I don't really have any other friends at the same stage in life.

since they didn't have much to do with each other.:)

Gettin' Around

Caedmon has finally started rolling over more than just once or once in a while! He's been rolling over for months now, but not all the time, and only when he felt like putting any effort into the activity. Now when we put him down, more often than not, he doesn't stay in one spot for long. It's fun to watch him roll around the living room. Better start vacuuming more often, or he'll be cleaning my floors with his clothing!:/

Caedmon's First Playdate:)

Last Thursday, Caedmon and I drove to Holland to meet with Rachel and Morgan. I work with Rachel and her daughter is about 2 1/2 months older than Caedmon. Caedmon hasn't had opportunity to be around children his age. It was so much fun to see him interact with her! He has been around children quite a bit older than him and he loves "little people!":)

We had a blast! I thoroughly enjoy talking with another mother going through a similar stage in life! They fed us a yummy lunch and were gracious hostesses! Thanks for a fun day ladies!:)
