Uh Oh...

Yes, he climbed in himself. I'm not sure what I was doing, but I heard Carys let out a scream and came into the room to find this. I'm sure he fell on some part of her on his way into her bed.:/ Thank goodness she's tough! I couldn't resist grabbing the camera, but then Mr. Caedmon got some chair time. I'd rather not have him climbing in his sister's bed.

A Picnic Lunch...of Sorts

It rained non stop for way too many days in a row and when Caedmon said to me, "eat out" meaning eat lunch outside, I had to come up with something fun to break the boredom of being indoors for far too long! What are we going to do this winter?! I better start getting creative!

Another Big Girl Chari

The big high chair sure wasn't in the basement for very long! I was babysitting the other day for a little boy who needed the small high chair she usually sits in, so I ran down and grabbed this one. I remembered my aunt who gave it to me commenting on how nice it was to put her little girl in it and be able to wheel her around the house so she was always close by. We are doing likewise now, and Caedmon enjoys his share of wheeling her around!:)

Spending Time with Daddy

Carys now enjoys "reading" along with Caedmon, but Caedmon isn't so sure about this little intrusion. She seems to find more amusement out of grabbing at and eating the book than listening to the story being read.:)

4 Months Old

Carys was 4 months old on the 3rd of Oct. She is a joy and a challenge, but what baby isn't I guess.:) Her disposition has improved for the most part, thankfully! She's talking a lot these days and boy does she have an opinion! I love to see her and Caedmon interact! Just tonight she was sitting in the high chair talking and Caedmon climbed up and started mimicking her and then she'd giggle and he'd giggle and it touched my heart...and had me giggling as well!:)

She holds her head her head up without effort or wobbling. She rolled over for the first time on Monday (Oct 5th) all by herself! She hasn't done it since, but she's so close.

She continues to be an excellent sleeper through the night. What a blessing! She sleeps 8 -10 hours and we have gotten into a routine of feeding her between 8 and 9 and then putting her to bed and she sleeps till 5 or 5:30am lately. It's kind of early, but she's totally ready to go to bed when she does and perhaps even earlier. But then she goes back to sleep for another 2-3 hours, so it's just Caedmon and me for awhile and allows me to get things done or just snooze on the couch while Caedmon watches Baby Einstein.

She recently discovered her feet. :)

She LOVES attention and hates when she's in a room by herself. She'll go from smiling and laughing to crying and back to smiling according to whether you're giving her undivided attention or not.

That's my little girl!:) And her hair is definitely red these days! It's pretty cute, although her daddy is constantly slips in comments about the temperament that goes along with it

Play Date

I've become good friends with our neighbor and it's so nice to be able to get together spur of the moment due to the proximity!

Big Girl Chair

We got out the small high chair for Carys 'cause she wants to sit up all the time! She does tummy crunches in her bouncy seat!:) She's going to be my active one! Caedmon was content to lay around!:)

Another Birthday Gift

Auntie Keesha got him this stuffed horse, which he loves! As you can see, he thinks he can ride it! Yeehaw!!:)

Bathtime Together

I was in a hurry to get baths done and Caedmon still wanted to play, so I put Carys in with him.

Produce From Our Garden

I made spaghetti sauce with our tomatoes. I got about four quarts. Look forward to trying it! Still have some more tomatoes to pick, but I'm afraid the cold has been too much for them.:/

Enjoying Birthday Toys

Birthday Boy!

Caedmon turned 2 on September 28, which landed on a Monday, so we had his birthday party on Sat. It was fun for me to reminisce about the previous year and see how much had changed, not just with Caedmon himself, but our lives in general.

Last year, we had moved up two weeks prior to his first birthday and many of our friends from down state came up for the party. It made it easier to leave knowing that we'd see each other again in a couple weeks.

This year, we were able to invite Caedmon's little friends! It was good for me to just step back and see how far we've come in a year! Moving is never easy, and making new friends can be difficult, but it CAN be done!:) I'm very thankful for friends, new and old!:)

Anyway, enough about that and more about the birthday boy!

It's hard to believe he's 2! I don't even know where to begin! He's come so far in a year! At his first birthday, he wasn't even crawling yet, choosing to do the army crawl instead. Now my little boy is talking up a storm, repeating everything, saying things we didn't even realize he knew, counting up to ten fairly well, singing the ABC's as well as just singing in general. Music is one of his latest fascinations. He loves listening to music, making music with anything he can find, dancing, singing and having mommy sing - he often commands, "sing mama sing!":)

He also recently learned the emotion of fear. He has no trouble sleeping in complete darkness, but he's scared of the moon. Yep, the moon! We're not exactly sure where this fear came from. The only thing we can figure is when we switched his room, his bed faces the window now. He's obsessed with the moon and when dusk hits, he's close at hand or on the couch refusing to go anywhere else. And he'd just assume go to bed - I didn't realize kids actually liked to go to bed, but my son does! He asks for it! I think part of it is that he feels safe in his bed.

We got rid of the high chair a couple months ago. Sometimes he sits in a booster seat; a lot of the time, he'd just rather go without.

We've had the training potty in the bathroom for awhile now as well, but making no progress with that one. We talk about it, ask him if he wants to use it, but he usually doesn't want to. Corey wants to push the issue, I'm fine with a slow pace. I'd rather continue to change diapers than deal with the accidents that are inevitable!

Well, that's some of the milestones that come to mind. Sorry this is so long. My blog is a journal for me since I don't have a baby book.
