Quote of the Year

I was talking to my sister yesterday and filling her in on Caedmon and what he's up to these days; including the not so nice stuff, like hitting and taking tantrums (in the middle of the mall no less!:( ). She was slightly astounded and said,

' I just thought you guys were perfect parents and he'd skip the brat stage and always be an angel.'

I had a good laugh over this! Thanks for the vote of confidence in parenting skills Keesha! :)

LOL, that's great. It's so true though, when they're infants and even as they start to get to the toddler stage, I think there's this impression that you have a perfect kid and you can be perfect parents. I'm not looking forward to reality hitting me in the face on that one...

Oh man Joey, you are not just a kidding! I was that parent, and then reality hit....yeah, not very exciting!:/

I still remember Joey's first tantrum--Collinsville, he didn't want to come inside. The second was for the same reason, but much less volatile. I guess we handled it well, he never had a third. I don't recall doing anything different with the others but only one other child ever threw one. I've definitely come to the conclusion that most kid things are just them, the pattern and continuation can be shared blame with parents, but not always!
