Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Putting Up the Tree

'Here daddy, you forgot this branch.'

Saturday morning(12/5), Caedmon was up by 6:30am,
so went right to work with lights and ornaments.

He's more intrigued by all the decorations this year.:)

Getting Our Christmas Tree

u

Trees were really expensive this year! The cheapest kind they had, they didn't have many for cutting down yourself and those they did have were too big...so, sniff sniff, we walked back to the front lot and bought a tree already cut and tied up and ready to go. It turned out to be a pretty little tree and my first year with a scotch pine. We didn't quite uphold the tradition (one Corey was more than happy to forgo) but at least we got out and got a real one. The year I succumb to a fake tree will be a sad year indeed!!!

Corey's B-day - Part 4 - Putting Up the Tree

The finale to the day was putting up the tree. Well, that was the end of Caedmon's day anyway. I did make a strawberry pie, which Corey enjoyed when he returned from bowling.
Caedmon enjoyed touching the tree and "helping." But once the lights and ornaments were up, the tree became off limits for him. He still tests those limits, but so far, nothing has been taken off or broken!

Corey's B-day - Part 2 - Picking Out the Christmas Tree

Corey hates this part of our Christmas tradition. He's begged me to get a fake tree, but I can't do it. Fake trees still look fake and I love the smell of a real tree! Poor thing, this year he had to do it on his birthday. I think secretly he enjoys it, but he can't let go of his humbug image.:)
The farm was on a hill and the wind was horrible! It was freezing, so I was not very picky about which tree to cut down. I picked it out in record timing! Caedmon was a trooper! Even got down and walked in the snow, got snow in his boot, and never complained once!
