A Friend Came to Play!

Ben made the trip up again - we're always glad to see a friend from down state! He's always been great with Caedmon and Caedmon loves him. Ben actually brought his snow clothes and we got out and got some fresh air! Caedmon always seems a little indifferent to being outside, but I think he has a good time. He definitely enjoyed getting all the attention for a few days!:)

He was doing a great job of walking in his boots and in the snow...

he didn't even cry when he slowly fell forward

and came up with snow on his nose.

And mommy had to get a picture before she rescued him.:/

He's signing deer - not the correct way to sign it;

he has his own version of ASL.

He's been a sponge with sign language.

He's loving animal signs right now!

And those are some difficult signs!

Corey's B-day - Part 2 - Picking Out the Christmas Tree

Corey hates this part of our Christmas tradition. He's begged me to get a fake tree, but I can't do it. Fake trees still look fake and I love the smell of a real tree! Poor thing, this year he had to do it on his birthday. I think secretly he enjoys it, but he can't let go of his humbug image.:)
The farm was on a hill and the wind was horrible! It was freezing, so I was not very picky about which tree to cut down. I picked it out in record timing! Caedmon was a trooper! Even got down and walked in the snow, got snow in his boot, and never complained once!

Winter

Winter has been somewhat of a love/hate relationship for me this year. I LOVE winter, always have! The snow is beautiful and we've had more this year than we've had since the 70's, so I've heard. We've had a good, "old-fashioned" winter this year and I'm loving it. Except for this one little problem. Well, maybe it's not such a little problem. I am so sick of driving on bad roads! As soon as I started my job, 30 - 45 min. away, winter hit full force!

Twice now, we've come home from up north in storms that had us on the road for over 5 hours rather than the normal 2 1/2. Last Sunday we'd already been on the road too long when we reached I96 with 30 miles left to get home and found it closed due to a 50 car pile up. Very thankful God answered our prayer for safety, but we had to go south to go north.

We had ANOTHER snow day on Monday.

The ice on the roads didn't completely clear up till the sun finally came out for the first time in days today!

You can't beat the beauty, and just because I have to drive in it doesn't make me wish it away, but if it could just snow in between the times I have to drive, it'd be wonderful!

Let It Snow...

I absolutely LOVE the snow! A couple days ago, it was coming down in big, beautiful flakes, and I just couldn't resist going outside and taking Caedmon with me! He wasn't quite as thrilled as I was - it was kind of cold on the face. I can't wait till he's old enough to go outside and play in it! I need an excuse to play in it myself!:)

Getting smothered by mom...a regular occurrence!:)
