Trick or Treat!

Another cold Halloween! I love that you can find full body, fleece costumes in northern Michigan!:)

We went trick or treating downtown again this year. It was a lot tougher this year with two. I had two last year, but Carys was in the sling. She wasn't too thrilled about the trick or treating part; she wanted to do the eating part!

This pic cracks me up -
it sums up my daughter's mood.
(she's flapping her hands in a tantrum)

I put her down to let her walk by herself,
but we didn't get anywhere.

Caedmon could have stayed at the fire truck all night!

Some of the friends we hung out with...

and more friends:)

Fun was had by all!
Well, mama had fun when she got to dig into the candy later!:)

Trick or Treat

Rainy and cold and we braved it all for candy!:) That's pretty much the kind of weather you can expect around here on Halloween! But, it was our first year trick or treating with the kids and we went with friends which makes for a good time!:) We trick or treated downtown where all the area businesses hand out candy. We saw tons of people we know and had a great time!

My little animals - Caedmon a dog and Carys a cat.
(Caedmon did NOT like the hood of his costume!:/)
(Notice how they make baby costumes like snowsuits around here?)

The firefighters handed out candy -
you walked in the truck on one side and walked out on the other.
Pretty neat!

Mikki and her boys, Josh on her shoulders and Bryce next to her.

One of the area churches had carved pumpkins and
had them out for people to vote on the one they liked best.

Miss Sam and Miss Carys

We met up with more friends at the church

Corey didn't trick or treat with us
because he was passing out candy at the church.
Well, passing out candy and playing!:)

The paramedics handed out glow bracelets

I think he thinks the dog is chasing him!:)
The ice cream shop hands out ice cream cones! Mmmm!
Although, a little cold for ice cream!

We had a great time, but were glad to be headed to dry and warm places!:)

Halloween

Halloween is not my favorite holiday by far, but dressing up in cute costumes and getting lots of candy is fun for the kids. Way back in the beginning of the year, I found an adorable costume at Goodwill and couldn't pass it up. I was guessing at what size he'd be and I turned out to be right - it fit him perfectly!
Our whole town stays open for trick or treat hours. All the area businesses pass out candy, as well as paramedics, police officers and firemen. Our church is right on main street, so we open up the building as well and have games and candy for the kids and coffee and hot chocolate for the parents. We had a lot of fun playing with the children and passing out candy.
