Brownwood Flee Market

Some friends invited us to go along with them to a flee market a couple weeks ago. I love that sort of thing and Corey came along for my sake.:) When we got there, I discovered this old timey village of sorts that is kept open for touristy purposes. There are about 4 or 5 buildings, one of them being a very real General Store with $0.15 candy. The flee market is held in an open field behind the buildings and even further back is the reason Caedmon wants to keep going back - animals! But mommy's reason for wanting to go week after week...fresh, warm, just-out-of-the-fryer doughnuts! The lady that owns the whole complex makes the doughnuts and oh my goodness are they delicious! I go for the doughnuts, Caedmon goes for the animals - we're all happy! (Corey made the trek with us the first time, but now I just kindly bring back a doughnut for him.:))

Down State - Day 3...The ZOO!!!

We went to the zoo Thursday morning. By the time we got there it was nearing Caedmon's nap time, so although he did quite well, he was somewhat of a zombie. I was so excited to take him because he's obsessed with animals, but his response to everything was kind of ho hum. The most enthusiastic he got was when he found the bongo drums! Oh well. We all had a good time!:)

His expression most of the day:)
The first thing we saw were ducks.
You know, it's a zoo and
there are so many cooler things to look at,
but he probably would have been happy there all day!:)

Of course the fish were a huge hit!

Matt was a great help!

not sure what they're looking at but love the profile pic!:)

Mary Beth and Caedmon - he loved her!

First Ride in a Saddle...

...on a real horse!!! Well, technically, a pony. A man in our church owns a horse ranch and we decided to get Caedmon out of the house and do something fun. We weren't sure what he'd do when placed on the horse, but he never cried. I couldn't quite tell if he wanted to as the horse walked across the barn and Caedmon was jostled back and forth, but he was a trooper. He loves animals! He knows tons of animal signs, but horse is difficult and he hasn't quite pulled that one off yet. We're still trying!

Me trying to teach him the sign for "horse."

The ranch is called "Coyote Bill's" and

Bill thought we needed a picture with a real, dead coyote.:)

Animal Love:)

When we had some older children over, I got some of the toys from the basement that Caedmon wasn't yet playing with. And I discovered that he is growing up and ready to play with some of the "big boy" toys! My aunt sent us home with lots more goodies after we visited in July. This farm was one of them and Caedmon loves it! Corey and I are starting to wonder if Caedmon is going to do something with animals one day - he LOVES his animal books and the farm!
It's so cute to watch him play with it on his own, and with such concentration!

And then, as with everything else, he uses it as a walker!:)

Wildlife In Our Own Yard!

This is what we've been enjoying! Corey calls our yard the petting zoo, except we haven't tried petting anything! :)
