Visiting the Grandparents

The kids and I headed north to hang out with the grandparents for a couple days. So thankful we live fairly close. So grateful for their love and care for us!

They found the old wagon!
Yes, mama had to take them for a ride. :)

Once again, enjoying a lovely morning and breakfast on the deck!

Always a highlight!

A Trip Up North

We made a last minute trip to Corey's parents for his grandmother's funeral. The kids enjoyed the time with Papa and Grandma!

They love the bunny...and the cage!:)

Waiting for the boat to come pick us up

Caedmon's feelings about the boat show on his face here.
He asked to get out of the boat the entire time we were in it!:/
He REALLY did not appreciate when mama got on the tube!

Fun times with Grandparents and Cousins

These carts are such a pain to maneuver,
but the kids love 'em!

Carys with Grandma...and not crying!

Caedmon and Maria eating breakfast.

A bath was only necessary for Maria, but Caedmon had to join the fun!

To Grandma's House We Go

We finally made the trip up to Papa and Grandma's - first time since Christmas. :/ Dad just had surgery, so we thought we'd help his boredom. We may have been too much excitement because he ended up in the emergency room on Sunday. That was a bummer! He's ok, but our time together got cut short.
It was good to see them again! Caedmon didn't want to come home! He enjoyed the bunny, the "kitty kitty" and Henry (his cousin). And Grandma sent him home with a bike, a cool desk, and paper, markers, crayons, stickers, and coloring books to go in the desk. He loves it!

We got in about 7:30pm Friday. Caedmon stayed up longer than usual and
Grandma was trying to cuddle before bedtime.

Labor Day Weekend

Yeah, I know this is way out of chronological order and happened like a month ago, but I had forgotten my camera when we went up north to see Corey's parents and so we bought a throw away camera and I'm just now finally getting them uploaded to the computer. Wow, that was a long sentence; I'm sure I broke some grammatical rule!:)
Anyway, we went up to Corey's parents Friday through Saturday. Corey finally took me to see Ocqueoc Falls, which are up by his parents and a local favorite swimming hole, but I'd had yet to see them for myself. It was a nice afternoon and Caedmon LOVED the water, but the rocks were extremely slippery and the current was pretty strong, so I had to keep a tight hold of him.

Saturday was Corey's step-mom Sarah's family reunion. The morning started off with a ride in the parade! Sarah's mother had most of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the parade - mom and children rode in a carriage pulled by horses and grandchildren and great grandchildren rode on hay bales on a flatbed behind a semi truck. It was a first for Caedmon and me. It was fun, but very long! The reunion took place at a State Park on a lake and once again, Ceadmon had a blast in the water.

It was fun, albeit quick weekend.

You can barely make out the semi-truck in the parade.
Corey kept Carys for me and tried to get a pic as we went by.

When we got back to Grandma Sable's house after the parade,
they took the kids for a ride in the carriage -
Caedmon went with Papa -
he's the little curly head next to the guy in yellow(Papa:))

Black Lake - reunion time... or swimming time for Caedmon:)

I'm not sure how many slices of watermelon he had -
he kept going back for more!
What a sticky mess, but good for you!

Family Visiting

Corey's brother is in the Navy and hasn't been home for 2 1/2 years. He finally got some time off and came up from SC this week. But he's up at the parents, so they all came over to visit yesterday since I'm not traveling these days. Caedmon took awhile to warm up to all the people here, especially since they arrived while he was taking his nap.

He warmed up to Anthony's girlfriend pretty quickly, asking her for "up," and taking her books to read to him. Anthony was pretty jealous, but he finally got Caedmon to play and read with him as well. :)

We enjoyed the time spent with all - it was especially nice that Anthony was able to spend the night when they decided to use our car for the next few days.

Caedmon found someone to hold him.:)

We found out that Nanna has the entire Cat in the Hat memorized!

Anthony finally found a book to lure Caedmon over - he could care less about the book as a whole, but there's a fish on just about every page and he's obsessed with fish right now!:)

Nana and Papa's

We took a trip up to the grandparents again the third week in May. Once again we had a lovely time and were well taken care of. A few people couldn't believe I was "across the state" two weeks before my due date, but I was pretty sure this baby wasn't going to come till June.:)

I absolutely love their back porch - we totally enjoyed a morning in our pj's out there - I'm so envious!:)

Hanging Out With Grandparents

Caedmon and I took a road trip this week to see Corey's parents. We haven't been up since Christmas and decided we didn't have to wait for Corey to be able to go up with us. So, while he was working, we went to see Nanna and Papa. And Caedmon can say both their names, but I'm not sure he really know what they mean yet.
Sarah plans to help out when I go into the hospital, so we decided Caedmon needed to spend a little more time with her!
We had a great time, just getting away from the house and doing something out of the ordinary. We were loved on and well taken care of!

Caedmon was obsessed with the cat immediately,
but wasn't so sure he wanted to leave mommy's side at first.
He eventually warmed up and "cat" was the
first thing he'd sign when he woke up!
Not sure how much the cat enjoyed him...

Looking at singing Hallmark cards with Nanna.
(Perks of owning a garbage business...
you never know what you're going to find in the trash -
I can't believe Hallmark throws cards away!)

Enjoying his first ice cream cone -
and I didn't even teach him how to eat it!
He just stuck his tonuge out right away...
and way before his mouth was ever close to the ice cream!
It was hilarious!
